Quilting 101: Learn the Basics with Laura
Have you always wanted to make a quilt but didn’t know where to start? Join Laura—truly the "Mrs. Rogers" of our quilt teachers—for an in-depth yet approachable four-session course designed specifically for total beginners. Known for her gentle, thorough instruction, Laura takes the stress out of learning and makes sure no student is left behind, taking extra time to help anyone who needs a hand.
Using the classic Rail Fence pattern from Alex Anderson’s Start Quilting, Laura will guide you step-by-step through the fundamental building blocks of quilt making in a cozy, supportive environment.
What You’ll Learn:

Fabric preparation and squaring up your yardage

Accurate rotary cutting and piecing techniques

Adding neat, crisp borders

Machine quilting basics using the "stitch-in-the-ditch" technique
By the end of this series, you’ll walk away with a completed project, a solid foundation of essential skills, and the confidence to take on your next quilting project.

Once you have set up your sewing space, please park in the rear of the building where you see the loading dock. Enter at the door with the purple canopy, and turn left into the shop.
